"Singapore, 23 July 2008 – Local director Roytson Tan 陈子谦, together with co-producers MediaCorp Raintree Pictures, Scorpio East Pictures, and Infinite Frameworks, is proud to annouce that local Mando-pop songstress, Stefanie Sun 孙燕姿, will be appearing in the upcoming local musical blockbuster 12 LOTUS《十二莲花》!

Says her spokesperson, "Stefanie caught 881 last year and was impressed with what she saw and felt proud for what Royston did as a local director. Stefanie has always been supportive of local talents, so she jumped at this golden opportunity to work with Royston on his upcoming movie, 12 LOTUS."

Royston met with Stefanie and they worked out her part and costume. And with help from the production crew, she immersed herself into Royston's vision.

12 LOTUS tells the story of a singer and the heartless men in her life who use and abuse her. Spanning over 1980s, 1990s till the present day, this film will play out against the backdrop of poignant hokkien songs, which will touch audience with their resonance with the lead character.

I can't wait for 12Lotus seriously. A film spans over 3 eras. And special appearance of Stefanie Sun? It's a must watch.

Other than that, The Days will be out real soon after that too. 11th Sept. Saw the hard work everyone put in for The Days and the story is action packed, so MUST CATCH too.

I didn't manage to finish taking photos of all the wardrobe because Michael the set designer invited me to watch this award winning short film called "Colors". It's by a local director, Derrick (Lim Beng Huat was the cameraman and Jeff was the gaffer). The story is alright. Straightforward with a bit of fantasies. What I didn't get was, he said he like this work (probably because the director is his friend) but he didn't like the "fairy
godmother" part in 881 which is equally as unrealistic as the fantasy part from Colors. And so we spent about an hour in the office talking and with him sharing his thoughts and experiences with me. Which was good because I got to know more about set designing and I had free time off from taking photos.

I guess EVERYONE needs some film language class from Peng. Ultimate lesson. The funny thing was that, while talking to Michael, I kept emphasizing on underlying message while on his side, he was talking about mood and feel on the whole.

Anyway, Michael also let me read this short film's (upcoming) script by the Derrick. Some tribute film to Wong Kar Wai. So we discussed about how to set up for a few scenes which allowed me to learn about light designing as well. And Linus (IMD grad) is working on his short film too.

2 more days! Meeting Chryst for dinner tomorrow, yay!
